Exchange Club of Charleston Grants

Every year, The Exchange Club of Charleston raises funds through proceeds from the Coastal Carolina Fair to award grants to local charities and for scholarships to worthy students.
From the 2018 Fair, The Exchange Club of Charleston awarded $501,102 to about 70 local non-profit organizations and students.
From the 2019 Fair, The Exchange Club of Charleston awarded $513,281 to about 70 local non-profit organizations and students.
Although there was no 2020 Fair, The Exchange Club of Charleston was able to award funding of approximately $100,000 to more than 50 local non-profits and students from our 501c3 Foundation.

Exchange Club of Charleston Foundation

The Exchange Club of Charleston Foundation is conducted as a non-profit public benefit corporation under the laws of the State of South Carolina and receives funds from the general public, the Exchange Club of Charleston, the Exchange Club Fair of Charleston, Inc., or members of affiliated organizations. Such funds are invested and reinvested and the income and principal shall be used to provide funds to legitimate charitable causes for the betterment and improvement of the communities and people located primarily in the Counties of Charleston, Dorchester, Colleton and Berkeley, South Carolina. Such funds are to be disbursed by the Exchange Club of Charleston Board of Directors, in accordance with authorization from the Board of Directors of this corporation with respect to the dollar value of the disbursement and any related donor stipulation. All disbursements, except for necessary operating expenses of the corporation, shall be for charitable or educational purposes and the corporation shall not carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on (a) by a corporation exempt from Federal income tax under $50l(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue law, or (b) by a corporation contributions to which are deductible under $170( c )(2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue law).

Want to be a vendor at the fair?


Due to Health Department rules, no food may be prepared on-site in either of the indoor exhibitor locations. All food vendors who would be preparing food on-site must complete the Outdoor Application!
Food products that are prepared and packaged off-site may be allowed indoors, based on approval by the chairmen.
